Pontifex Contest 7 Results

Contest 7 was the biggest until now, I received 48 entries - incredible! The level seems to have been received pretty well, since it allowed a wide variety of different designs. It was originally made by Chillum (since he won an earlier contest), and fine-tuned by me. Still, it wouldn't be fair if Chillum could compete for the main prizes, so his 'clean' bridge is only included in the summary as a bonus.

I think introducing the 'artistic' category was a good move, since I got 11 artistic entries right away, and they are really nice. Expect some new 'special titles' in the future if this number keeps increasing!

Almost all contestants have respected the rules, for instance, the e-mail subject lines were perfectly aligned, which made sorting the entries pleasantly easy (Thanks!).

No-one got disqualified. There were, however, a couple of very suspicious bridges that were extremely similar and apparently made by the same person (I have several clues), but he seems to pretend those were done by two different people. Anyway, the bridges were far from getting a prize, so I left them in, take a look (laugh) by yourself.

Please note that I have removed the water when taking 'settled' screenshots to make the underwater part of the bridges visible.

As always, any feedback on the contest is more than welcome. Please post your thoughts in this forum thread.

Each of the winners will get an eternal place in the Hall Of Fame (if he doesn't have one yet) as soon as I get the necessary information from them.

The bridge cost discussion forum is no longer password-protected until the next contest starts.

For your reference, the rules/prizes page and the contest level file can still be found here.
