 Pontifex Contest 25 Results

Introduction

These are the results for the 25th bridge building contest.

There were 85 bridges sent in:

  • 10 ARTISTIC entries
  • 56 NORMAL entries
    • 31 were accepted according to the rules
    • 13 were NOT accepted (mostly bridge/ship contact) - sorry, but reading the RULES helps, honestly ;)
    • 12 were additional entries (multiple submissions)
  • 19 HARD bridges
    • 8 were accepted according to the rules
    • 4 were NOT accepted
    • 7 were additional entries

I'm very happy that the bridge building community is a very international one. The 44 participants come from 20 different countries.

The level was very challenging this time, because you had to anticipate the shape of the bridge with expanded hydraulics, so that newbies had a very hard time. Sorry for that, but on the other hand I think that solving this puzzle in the end could be very satisfying.

I used larger screenshots this time, because bandwidth and monitor resolutions grow. I hope everybody is content with this change.

Feedback, please!

As always, any feedback on the contest is welcome. Please post your impressions in this forum thread. Each of the winners will get an eternal place in the Hall Of Fame (if he doesn't have one yet) once I get the necessary information from them. The bridge cost discussion forum is no longer password-protected until the next contest starts. For your reference, the rules/prizes page and the contest level file can still be found here.

ARTISTIC Title Poll

For the title of the best ARTISTIC bridge, I ask you to vote for your candidate in this forum poll. The candidates are listed on the 'ARTISTIC entries summary' page (link below). The poll will be closed after two weeks.

Next Contest

The next contest will be a very special contest. It's a BCS map pack contest on an excellent brand new map pack by Ricleite! It will start in a few days on Friday, May 13th. I hope to see you all back then.

Prizes

The possible winners of the two categories have decided to decline their prizes (many thanks, guys), so the lottery contained three free ChronicLogic games. The winners are announced in the detailed winners introduction (see below).

Special Thanks

I'd like to thank Chronic Logic for providing the prizes and everybody who submitted a bridge! I hope you enjoyed building the bridges, reading and posting on the forum and everything else!

Now ... the RESULTS!
