 Pontifex II Contest 13

Welcome to the thirteenth 'kinda monthly' bridge building contest!
It's about building Pontifex II bridges. Everyone is welcome to enter. The full version of Pontifex II is required.

The Goal

For the uncertain, the goal is to build the cheapest, most original, best-looking or craziest bridge possible that allows the train to complete the level, while obeying the following simple rules...

The Rules - read carefully!!

During Contest 10 it became clear to me that somehow, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between clean and dirty constructions in Pontifex II (except when a dirty bridge is built 'on the river bottom'). So I decided to alter the rules for this contest.

This time, there is no real 'dirty' category. Instead, you have to build a no-cable bridge for the clean category, while using cables will make your bridge count as 'dirty'. Just think of the two categories as 'no cables' and 'cables'.

I hope everything works out how it's supposed to :)

There are 2 main bridge categories: 'clean' and 'dirty', and the additional 'artistic' category.

For 'clean' bridges:

1. You may not use cables.

For 'clean' and 'dirty' bridges:

2. The train must pass the bridge without breaking any links and without ever touching the water or leaving the track.

3. No bridge links may touch (except at the anchor points) or penetrate the level terrain.
Update: you may use the low detail terrain setting. It gives you a bit more freedom near the anchor points.

4. The bridge must work with any train delay beyond the 'settling point'.

5. In order not to overcomplicate things, the train may go through bridge beams.

6. You may not exploit bugs or flaws in the game engine.

For 'dirty' and 'artistic' bridges:

7. You may use cables.

7 1/2. (Update) You may increase the budget for artistic bridges.

For all bridges:

8. Save your bridge in a .PFB file. It will be located in your profile folder. Compress it with RAR or ZIP! Then attach it to an e-mail and send it to contest@bridgebuilder-game.com.

9. The e-mail subject must read "[CLEAN/DIRTY] Cost: xxx Name: yyy" or "ARTIST Name: xxx Cost: yyy". No dollar signs ($), no punctuation in the bridge cost. My subject line would be "CLEAN Cost: 12345 Name: Gray". Use these e-mail links to make sure you get it right: Clean, Dirty, Artistic.

10. The contest ends at 9:00 PM CEST (7:00 PM GMT) on April 27th. I take no responsibility for e-mail servers being too slow for your e-mail to reach me in time, etc. You will get an automatic e-mail reply when an entry is received.

11. Strictly ONE bridge per category per participant is allowed, no exceptions. ALL bridges count as 'artistic' as well, so you don't have to submit your 'clean' bridge twice to get the Bridge Artist title :)

12. Any discussions on contest bridge costs are to be kept in this special sub-forum. For your own good, it is password-protected. To get the password, first read this.

13. Breaking, bending or scratching any of the above rules will result in disqualification. If you are unsure whether or not your bridge meets all the requirements, contact me for a clarification before submitting your entry.

14. In the event of a tie, the entry I receive first will be rated better.
