 Pontifex Contest 11 Results

Introduction

Here's the statistics: 42 bridges, 37 legit ones. I have to ask - why, oh why do the poll results on the front page say Pontifex I is the least fun CL game? I was really amazed at how many great different bridges were submitted this time! The no-cable rule turned out to be a refreshing change that made people think in new ways, making creativity at least as important a factor as the 'regular tweaking skills'.

The battle for the medals was really fierce, and, in fact, the majority of the 'clean' bridges are really damn good. I hadn't really had the time to build a contest bridge myself before I got 'spoiled' when I saw the first submissions, but I have major doubts I would have made it into the top five. Way to go guys!

I'm sorry I had to disqualify a couple of bridges because of train-beam and beam-terrain intersection, maybe the rules were a bit too strict there... However, I'm sure they were stated very clearly (what with the illustrated clarifications ;) ), so it was once again just a matter of "RTFR" ;-)

Also, remember: there's no need to rush your submission, take your time and make sure everything's OK. Feel free to ask questions. Send me an e-mail or use the forum.

As always, any comments on the contest are really welcome. Please post your thoughts in this forum thread.

Each of the winners will get an eternal place in the Hall Of Fame (if he doesn't have one yet) once I get the necessary information from them.
The bridge cost discussion forum is no longer password-protected until the next contest starts.
For your reference, the rules/prizes page and the contest level file can still be found here.
