Introduction
Contest 8 set a new record - 56 entries! And there is a lot of exceptionally good ones among them! I'm really pleased with the way the contest turned out. Many thanks to all participants!
Just one minor nitpick: please make sure to leave a space after 'Cost:' in the e-mail subject next time, so I can still quickly sort the increasing amount of entries. Thanks! :)
I'm especially glad that the number of artistic bridges has increased, and boy they are so good - I had a hell of a hard time selecting only a few...
On the other hand, no bridge was 'inventive' enough to justify a Bridge Inventor award this time, at least not in my humble opinion... Some ideas were really nice, but it all has been there before in some form. I decided against issuing a Bridge Inventor award this time in order not to lessen it's value.
As always, any feedback on the contest is more than welcome. Please post your thoughts in this forum thread.
Each of the winners will get an eternal place in the Hall Of Fame (if he doesn't have one yet) as soon as I get the necessary information from them.
