CLEAN, 2nd place - Bridge Major
If Nick's repeat Captain title didn't impress you, then this will: ead has placed 2nd in both the clean AND dirty categories,
and he has now done this for the last 3 contests in a row! That's a lot of silver! Don't expect a repeat General performance though, I would not have came up with such
a brilliant design as we have here. This "double swing" does away with most of the cable, now the bridge sways only slightly as the train
passes over the hill - an extremely stable design. Also note the neat optimizations: The center pillar is light steel, with a
heavy steel cap to prevent the cable from tearing it apart. Then we have the two cable "supports" which remind me of Guilderoy's first place dirty
bridge in contest 13. Well done ead!
DIRTY, 2nd place - Bridge Mafioso
Although Laze Cannon created the contest 15 level, I had some input, and dreaming of Contest1-style dirty bridges using dangly cable
supports, I had Laze raise the ground just a bit. Well, no one used that expensive technique, but the suggestion has made major difference anyway: as the
train rolls across, ead's bridge rests on the ground in the center. Notice the rules never said train-water contact was illegal, and ead took full
advantage! Offloading that extra weight allowed him to shave off another $1572 over Gernot's anchor-support-only design.
On to ... Bridge General and Bridge Don!
