 Pontifex Contest 30 Results

Introduction

These are the results for the 30th bridge building contest.

There where a lot of (73) contestants this time to celebrate the jubilee or maybe take home the big prizes. I'm very happy that the bridge building community is a very international one. Greets go thoughout the world once again! The level was a special for the Fifa World Cup 2006 and I hope everybody liked to be our guest, just like the official motto says...! It was a tough cookie though to get a first solution, but I've choosen that setting, because hydraulics always allow many different solutions. Now have a look at the results to see, why I'm right with this...

Feedback, please!

As always, any feedback on the contest is welcome. Actually, posting your impressions or just a 'thank you' in this forum thread is the kind of encouragement we need to keep up this site and the contests. Each of the winners will get an eternal place in the Hall Of Fame (if he doesn't have one yet) once Guilderoy gets the necessary information from them. The bridge cost discussion forum is no longer password-protected until the next contest starts. For your reference, the rules/prizes page and the contest level file can still be found here.

ARTISTIC Title Poll

For the title of the best ARTISTIC bridge, I ask you to vote for your candidate in this forum poll. The candidates are listed on the 'ARTISTIC entries summary' page (link below). The poll will be closed after two weeks.

Special Thanks

I'd like to thank Guilderoy, (for general advice and backing me up in the forum and with the submitted entrys), Josiah (from Chronic Logic for organizing the prizes and releasing the demo versions), Ead (for his great pfx2viewer 0.003) and everybody who submitted a bridge! Thanks for the friendly comments I received in the forum and by mail; Keep building!

Now ... the RESULTS!

I made a lot of pics, but there is no way to compensate the real view. I strongly recommend to WATCH THEM ALL IN ACTION!
